This program, together with others that are known all around the world, is considered one of the most efficient and complete antiviruses. Among some other software created with the same goal we can highlight the following:

AVG AntiVirus Free, counts on powerful filters which allows it to detect and stop most of the viruses that circulate the network, even those which are more powerful and have the capacity to evade any other similar software. Although it counts on some fewer options than its professional version (AVG Antivirus Professional), the protection offered is similar.

Besides being a tool which offers excellent results in its goals, it is also characterized for being of simple understanding, offering an easy way of use for all users which is worth highlighting. In the early 90s, viruses started to expand fast and it was very complicated to get an application which avoided their installation. Nevertheless, in the middle of the dark there was to be a light, a small Czech company that would solve the lives of thousands of users.

In the year 1991, Gritzbach and Tomas Hofer funded AVG Technologies, a company which was going to offer tools to increase the security of the system and to eliminate the viruses that had not been stopped in time.

The first application that was launched by AVG Technologies was Anti-Virus Guard. Although being very efficient, the users soon started to request improvements and the developers included as many updates as they could until it became necessary to launch another version.

As time went by, the company grew enormously and in its long way different other smaller businesses joined them, such as Ewido, Exploit Prevention Labs y Grisoft. Although AVG Tchnologies was acquired by Intel Corporation (year 2005), neither did it lose its work autonomy nor was it necessary to do so.
