Adobe Reader is an application that allows visualizing and printing files in PDF format with a quality that make it possible to fully enjoy its content, so you can see the information as it was created, without any problem. PDF format has been really used on the Web, and thanks to the compatibility it has con programming languages. You can manage a great amount of information of any type (text, conceptual maps, diagrams, vectorial graphs, etc.) without needing to have specific software for running those formats.
In its last version, Adobe Reader 9 has some advantages and improvements that make work much easier. Not only externally offering users the possibility of using new tools and develops new functions, but also internally improving response abilities, upload speed, dynamic process, etc.

With PostScript and Adobe Illustrator Technologies, Adobe Systems Incorporated company had great ambitions for creating a format that can be opened form any computer without having compatibility problems.
It comes with John Warnock, one of Adobe founders who started working to improve technologies already known and fuse together to obtain the final objective that will be called PDF.
Although it is known as PDF format, at the beginning did not have that name. When Adobe firstly mentions this type of technology (1991), it was under the name of IPS which means “Interchange PostScriptâ€.
In 1992, it was presented in Comdex (one of the most important events worldwide to exhibit new technologies regarding comupters) PDF format, winning a prize.
In 1993, the developer company brought within anyone reaches tools for using this format. The first application allowed visualizing the new format called: Carrusel. As a result, the first files were also known as CARO.
Adobe Reader price was a bit high on its first time: All the applications cost U$S 50, which will be inaccessible for most users. Also, you should bear in mind that PDF was not known yet and it should win a place on the market.
After that, a free version was launched and at that moment people got to know this format and use it in different platforms.
Throughout the years, Adobe Reader versions began to be completed and improve the services it offered, which allows becoming the favourite application leaving any other competence behind.

As you can image this added element allows users to work with PDF files directly from Firefox, characteristic which cannot be developed for a long time. Now it is not necessary to run a third application to download or print PDF files.
