[edit] Installation:
- The first step to begin enjoying NOD32 is to install the program in the computer. In order to do that you have to pay attention to the instructions provided by the program, which are very easy to understand:
- After the welcome screen, the program license agreement is shown in a screen (you have to agree with it to go on with the installation). Then, you have to select the type of installation to perform (typical or custom):
- The last step simply consists in pressing the âInstallâ button:
[edit] Use and configuration:
- Once it has been installed, NOD32 is run together with Windows startup and remains minimized next to the operative system clock. This is very useful to gain quick access to the program main interface, with the purpose of looking at the application modules and registries.
- When you double click on the NOD32 icon, you access the configuration screen. In it you can watch the panel with all the modules and tools that NOD32 offers (signaled with the âAâ letter). In this way, you can know the status of each of the utility individual components, but you can also gain access to the scanning system screen. By selecting that module, which is called NOD32Scanner, a side screen appears by means of which you can select the parameters of the tasks to perform, each one of them is described.
- For example, if you click on the item that is called âLocal Discsâ, NOD32 will deeply analyze the hard discs connected to the computer in a window called âDisinfectingâŚâ. In this way, it performs a manual analysis of the computer components and will report in case of finding some rare behavior or any other kind of problem.
- In order to show how to modify the program, we are going to take AMON (Antivirus Monitor) screen as an example, which is one of the NOD32 modules. The adjustments are very easy to apply since from the first tab (called âDetectionâ), you indicate the utilities the components to analyze and their locations. The program provides these options so that each user can define their antivirus behavior according to your needs: for example, if you do not enable the option called âScan on file creationâ, new files wonât be bore in mind, which in part disables proactive defenses.
