If you are keen on music and you have singer qualities, try VanBasco´s Karaoke Player, a powerful MID and KAR file player ideal for getting together with your friends and do karaoke.
It reads the information that these files have, showing on the monitor screen the lyrics and reproducing the audio track at the same time. The system is totally configurable by the user: you can play with equalizer levels, make an instrument to stress more than others, vary the “tempo”, background colour for the text, volume, and many more.
VanBasco´s Karaoke Player interface is very friendly and easily adaptable for the user, since it won’t be necessary to have previous knowledge with other program of similar characteristics.

Van Basco’s Karaoke Player is a development of VanBasco (Germany) enterprise, written by Daniel Pustka in 1998.
The program has done a long way to be what it is nowadays: an application with great benefits and little resources demand for functioning optimally on the PC.
From the beginning it has break new grounds among similar programs in order to become publicly known, making people to support its development with comments to the author and money contributions (up to 2.03 free trial version or shareware ).
Nowadays, improving its technical part and its basic interface, you can enjoy a high quality program and without limitations. Also, it is worth mentioning that the developer has include many suggestions and requests from Van Basco’s Karaoke Player users, in order to strengthen feedback between them and Karaoke creator.
MIDI format (Musical Instrument for Digital Interface) is a worldwide standard used for the efficient devices communication like music keyboards, synthesizer, computers, and so on.
This standardization allows a synthesizer to create songs and display on the computer musical notes, rhythm, times, and even which instrument the song plays. All the information is saved in a file with MID extension, which becomes a real score for the PC and for the keyboard or other device with MIDI regulation.
The playing quality of the above file depends only on the sound plaque installed on your system. The special characteristics of this format are its small size and the possibility of opening, editing, and printing scores from a MIDI file (with an appropriate program).

Van Basco’s Karaoke Player outstanding features are: 1) its simple interface from which you can hide and restore the rest of the windows; 2) it adjusts the playing preferences (random, repeat, listen only intro mode from each track); and 3) having access to the program entire setting.
- Instrument selection
In case you wish to silence any instrument or leave another one as a “solo”, you can make it from the MIDI output window. You can even see the playing progress of each of them.
- Sound track adjustment
In the control window, you can adjust playing parameters such as the song “Tempo “, tone, and volume. You can also save this preferences clicking in the option save on the list.
- Screen keyboard
In the “Piano” screen you have an extra entertaining detail, since you can see the playing on a melody keyword in reproduction. If any instrument is in “solo” mode, you can follow the keystrokes and learn to play that song.
- Playlist
Here you can make file list to play, also allowing arranging them as you wish, naming the list according to the songs categories. You should remember that speed, volume, and tuning variation can be save with one list, so you do not need to adjust them again when you play them.
- Karaoke Screen
You can see the song lyrics and its displacement according to the configuration you prefer. Font colour, background image, and number of lines to be shown are some of the adjustable aspects for an entertaining experience.
